Why San Diego County is at high risk for earthquakes

San Diego County is located in a high-risk seismic area, and is prone to ground shaking due to its proximity to the Rose Canyon, Elsinore, and San Jacinto Faults. The region's high seismic activity was brought back into the spotlight after a series of more than 300 earthquakes rattled Southern California over the weekend.
