Malay, Aklan and Taytay, Rizal Strengthen Local Governance through Sisterhood Pact

The Municipalities of Malay, Aklan and Taytay, Rizal are strengthening ties through the establishment of a sisterhood relationship aimed at promoting cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable local development.
The Sangguniang Bayan ng Malay warmly welcomed the delegation from the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Allan De Leon, during a courtesy visit held in Malay, Aklan.
The meeting provided an opportunity for local officials from both municipalities to exchange messages of goodwill, express gratitude, and discuss opportunities for closer collaboration. The sisterhood partnership is expected to encourage the exchange of best practices in local governance while fostering mutual understanding between the two local governments.
The initiative is anchored on Resolution No. 165, Series of 2024, entitled “A Resolution Establishing the Sisterhood Relationship Between the Municipality of Malay, Aklan and the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal, and Authorizing Municipal Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista to Negotiate and Sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Municipality of Taytay, Rizal.”
The resolution was enacted and approved in September 2024, formally paving the way for the two municipalities to pursue a stronger partnership.
Through the sisterhood relationship, Malay and Taytay seek to create avenues for sharing successful programs, governance strategies, and development initiatives that could benefit their respective communities.
The partnership also highlights the importance of collaboration among local government units in addressing common challenges and pursuing inclusive and progressive development.
The Sangguniang Bayan ng Malay reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships that contribute to the continued growth and progress of the municipality.
The establishment of the sisterhood relationship marks another step toward building stronger connections between local governments and creating opportunities for meaningful cooperation between Malay, Aklan and Taytay, Rizal.
