VOSD Podcast: Era of Big Swings

The temperature seems to be rising, and it has nothing to do with weather.

In this week’s episode our hosts were joined by chair of the San Diego County Democratic Party, Will Rodriguez-Kennedy, to discuss national and local news.

First, last Friday activists barricaded themselves in Mayor Todd Gloria’s office to protest how local law enforcement deals with immigration officials. Bella Ross broke down what the San Diego Police Department can and can’t do in these situations.  

Second, our hosts discuss a now dead proposal to tax empty second homes and vacation rentals.

Finally, Rodriguez-Kennedy weighed in on some of the upcoming political races in 2026. He also gave a behind-the-scenes look at how political candidates are encouraged to drop out of crowded races.
