Two persons of interest wanted in deadly Ocean Beach shooting -- have you seen them?

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two persons of interest connected to a homicide that occurred earlier this week in Ocean Beach.

According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday night in the 5000 block of Newport Avenue when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot just west of Hodad’s, a popular local burger spot.

Upon arrival, authorities found a man that had been shot in his upper body. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called in to investigate the incident. Authorities determined that the victim was involved in a confrontation with two other men prior to the shooting. The suspects fled the scene on foot and remain on the loose.

In an update on Friday, police announced they are looking to identify the suspects who they say may be armed and are considered dangerous. The following photos were provided of the men in question:

The firearm used in the homicide has not yet been recovered.
