The Social Diary – Patrons of the Prado Masterpiece Gala

SAN DIEGO – The Patrons of the Prado (aka POP) held its annual gala at the Natural History Museum in Balboa Park. A glamorous beauty – also industrial engineer smart – Sonya Berg had these poignant remarks about the night.
“It was a wonderful evening celebrating the ‘Elegance of the Elements.’ Chef Jeffery Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille delighted us once again with an unforgettable gourmet dinner. We had so much fun, dancing the night away with the Mighty Untouchables. The rooftop farewell, champagne toast under the stars, was the perfect way to end a magical evening,” Berg said.
The night’s purpose was two-fold. Funding the BUCKS4BUSES educational initiative allows K-12 students across San Diego County access to Balboa Park’s world-class institutions, plus funding for Balboa Park museums. Bravo!
Meanwhile, on the beach in La Jolla, there was an elegant summer dinner with guests encouraged to dress in white attire. The party within the party was hosted by me and hubby Scott Johnston. Let’s just say the evening was culinary perfection by executive chef Ananda Bareño.
