TECNO CAMON SLIM 5G Launches in the Philippines, Showcasing 6.39mm Ultra-Slim Design on a Fashion Runway

TECNO Mobile has launched the new CAMON SLIM 5G in the Philippines, introducing its new ultra-slim imaging flagship through a fashion-led event that put 15 Filipino women and their personal stories at the center of the launch.

Rather than relying solely on product demonstrations and specifications, TECNO presented the phone through a runway concept centered on modern Filipino women and the different roles they occupy in their daily lives.

Dubbed “MAKE IT LIGHTER: The Living Cover Runway,” the event framed the new smartphone around the idea of making everyday life lighter, but still with the capability to keep up with full, fast-moving everyday lives. Reflecting this, the CAMON SLIM 5G combines an extra-light 6.39mm ultra-slim body with a 6,000mAh battery, along with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera, Super-Zoom FlashSnap and TECNO Universal Tone imaging.

The centerpiece of the launch was The Living Cover Runway, featuring 15 women from different backgrounds, professions and stages of life. They included celebrities and creators, but also entrepreneurs, working mothers, businesswomen, women in technology, community builders and other real Filipinas whose stories extend far beyond a single title.

The runway was designed around one simple idea: every woman becomes the cover of her own story. Instead of walking the stage simply as models, each woman entered with her name and identity introduced on the LED screen. As she moved down the runway carrying the CAMON SLIM 5G, a short narration introduced part of her personal journey—what she does, what she carries in life, and what making life “lighter” means to her.

The runway featured women whose stories explore reinvention, creativity, identity and growth. They include, among others, Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena, and Max Collins.

Leading the finale was actress, host and Miss World 2013 Megan Young. Her journey across pageantry and entertainment reflected the evening’s celebration of women who continue to grow beyond a single title. Her Living Cover moment brought together the confidence, style and sense of possibility at the heart of the launch.

The fashion direction of the event centered on Burgundy Red, the hero color of the CAMON SLIM 5G.

All 15 looks incorporated burgundy as a common visual element, but the designs varied according to the woman wearing them. Instead of using identical gowns or a traditional pageant aesthetic, the styling drew from modern Filipiniana through structured silhouettes, translucent fabrics, fluid draping, pleats and movement.

100 Portraits of Becoming

The evening also offered a glimpse into another chapter of TECNO’s work with Filipino women through 100 Portraits of Becoming, a collaboration with artist and photographer Angélica Dass.

Portraiture was woven into the launch experience as part of a broader exploration of women beyond the labels commonly used to define them. In the event concept, photographed women form part of the emotional spine of the experience, connecting individual portraits with the stories presented throughout the launch.

The Philippine chapter of 100 Portraits of Becoming will look more closely at working women, particularly working solo mothers and the people around them, through the lens of diskarte—the adaptability, wisdom and resourcefulness with which women find their own ways forward. Rather than framing these women only through difficulty or sacrifice, the project asks a different question: Who are they beyond the labels placed on them?

With CAMON SLIM 5G, TECNO brought that philosophy off the specification sheet and onto a runway, allowing the product to be seen not only as a new smartphone, but as part of the style, movement and everyday life of the women it was designed for.

Availability

The CAMON Slim 5G is available in Burgundy Red, Matisse Black, and Rebel Pink during the pre-order period, from Oct. 2-15. It will also be available in Gossamer White next month.

The 256GB+8GB variant is available in all online and offline stores at ₱ 27,999; and while 128GB+8GB variant, priced at ₱24,999 is available via TikTok Shop only.

Pre-order offers

Pre-order customers can enjoy a package of benefits. This includes premium gifts worth P10,000, consisting of a Limited TECNO MagBadge, 60-day free replacement, 13-month extended warranty, three years of 256GB cloud storage, and a three-month Google One AI Plus 2TB free trial.

A special cash discount of up to P3,000 is also up for grabs, depending on the claim date. Customers claiming their units on Oct. 16-17 can receive P3,000, while those claiming on Oct. 18 can receive P2,500, and those claiming from Oct. 19-23 can receive P2,000.

Every valid pre-order before Oct. 24 will also receive one entry into TECNO’s P2 million cash prize draw, giving customers 101 chances to win — including one P 1 million Grand Prize and 100 winners of P10,000 each.

Depending on the partner and applicable promotion, customers can enjoy benefits such as installment plans of up to 24 months, with up to P1,000 discounts or cashback.
