Tame Impala announces San Diego stop on 'Deadbeat Tour'

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Global psych-rock powerhouse Tame Impala—the musical project of Australian artist Kevin Parker—has announced a U.S. tour in support of his highly anticipated new album, "Deadbeat," and San Diego fans won’t have to wait long to catch it live.

The “Deadbeat Tour" will stop at Pechanga Arena San Diego on Nov. 9, 2025, promising an immersive audiovisual experience unlike anything Parker has delivered before.

The tour kicks off Halloween night with a two-night residency at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and wraps up in Oakland, California on Nov. 14. Other major stops include Los Angeles’ Kia Forum (Nov. 11–12) and Chicago’s United Center (Nov. 3).

Tame Impala’s fifth studio album is set for release on Oct. 17 via Columbia Records and is available for pre-order now. The album sees Parker diving into club-psych territory, drawing inspiration from Western Australia's underground rave scene and infusing it with his signature sonic textures.

Fans can choose from several exclusive vinyl editions, including:

  • Two web-store exclusive color variants at tameimpala.com
  • An Urban Outfitters exclusive vinyl
  • An Indie Record Store exclusive
  • A limited run of numbered cassettes, available through Brooklyn Vegan and Alternative Press

Parker teased the project earlier this month with singles “Loser,” accompanied by a surreal video starring "Stranger Things" actor Joe Keery, and the sprawling, 7-minute “End of Summer,” paired with a visual short directed by artist Julian Klincewicz.

On "Deadbeat," Parker presents his most vulnerable lyrical content to date, exploring themes of disillusionment and emotional inertia, all wrapped in euphoric, dance-ready production. It’s a stark pivot from 2020’s "The Slow Rush," trading grand concepts of time for raw snapshots of the everyday internal grind.

Described as “raving as self-enquiry,” the album is said to be both hypnotic and self-reflective—offering listeners a cathartic escape as much as an introspective journey.

Kevin Parker has long been recognized as one of the most influential and visionary artists of the last decade. As Tame Impala, he’s earned:

  • 4 GRAMMY nominations (plus a win in 2024 for his collab with Justice)
  • 13 ARIA Awards in Australia
  • The BRIT Award for Best International Band
  • Collaborations with global stars like Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, SZA, and more

Tame Impala’s breakout hit “The Less I Know the Better” recently surpassed 2 billion streams, joining the ranks of the "Billionaires Club." His last album was his highest-charting effort globally and cemented his place in both indie and mainstream spheres.

Fans in San Diego can expect an immersive live show with all-new visuals this November.
