Sheriff’s Office seeks suspect accused of sexual battery in East County
The sexual-battery suspect grabbed a jogger from behind and put his left arm around her neck and chest to restrain her,



Investigators on Saturday said they are trying to identify the suspect who grabbed and battered a 24-year-old jogger this week in an unincorporated area of El Cajon.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Hilton Head Road, the suspect grabbed the jogger from behind and put his left arm around her neck and chest to restrain her. He proceeded to sexually batter the victim, according to a news release by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
She screamed, freed herself and ran away. The male fled the scene in the opposite direction.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’6″, 150 pounds with a thin build. He wore a dark-colored top, possible black hat and black flip flops. He also had short, shaggy medium brown hair.
