SDG&E reports power outages in Mira Mesa, nearby communities

A pair of afternoon power outages left several thousand homes and businesses without electrical service Monday in Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch and Sorrento Valley.
The blackouts struck over a roughly two-hour period beginning shortly before 12:30 p.m., knocking out power to a total of 2,746 San Diego Gas & Electric customers, the utility reported.
Service was expected to be restored to all the affected addresses by early evening, according to SDG&E.
The cause or causes of the outages were under investigation, the power company advised.
