Alaska Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop service between San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Sun Valley, Idaho this winter.

The flights, to Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN), will operate three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, beginning Dec. 19.

The service continues through March 31, 2026.

“This new seasonal route between San Diego and Sun Valley comes at the perfect time for travelers looking to enjoy some of North America’s premier winter recreation,” Kimberly Becker, president and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, said in a news release.

“It provides Southern Californians with convenient access to Idaho’s stunning mountain landscapes and world-class skiing, while also offering Sun Valley residents a direct connection to San Diego’s beaches, culture, and sunshine.”

With the addition of Sun Valley, Alaska Airlines now offers nonstop service to 45 destinations from San Diego.

The company’s flights reach cities across the Northwest, Northeast, California, Florida, Mexico and all four major Hawaiian islands.
