San Diego will experience a gradual increase in temperatures this week, with highs ranging from 72-97 degrees, and a 10-20% chance of thunderstorms in the mountains and deserts from Thursday through Sunday.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Daily highs will gradually rise this week with high pressure building over the southwest.

By Thursday, temperatures will be near or above average. The coast will range from 72-80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. NWS reports inland highs will range from 83-97 degrees.

Monsoonal moisture is likely to make its way in from the southeast. The chance for thunderstorms begins Thursday in the mountains and deserts. FOX 5/KUSI News weather models show a 10 to 20 percent chance of monsoon action Thursday through Sunday.
