San Diego Comic-Con: 'American Dad!,' 'Family Guy,' 'Simpsons' shows renewed
The cast and creators of popular adult animated comedies "The Simpsons," "American Dad!," "Family Guy," "Bob's Burgers," and "King of the Hill" attended San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to announce what's next for their shows.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- With all the big announcements that came from San Diego Comic-Con this year, you can't forget the adult animated comedies.
The cast and creators of "The Simpsons," "American Dad!," "Family Guy," "Bob's Burgers" and "King of the Hill" were all at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to announce what's next for the popular shows.
American Dad!
"American Dad!" is returning to FOX from TBS in 2026 and has been renewed for four more seasons, taking the show through at least season 25.
During the Saturday Ballroom 20 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the cast -- Wendy Schaal (Francine Smith), Scott Grimes (Steve Smith), Dee Bradley Baker (Klaus Heisler), and Jeff Fischer (Jeff Fischer), along with executive producers Matt Weitzman, Kara Vallow, and Nic Wegener, and supervising director Brent Woods -- gave an exclusive preview at the show's milestone 400th episode.
Variety reports the cast and creators teased the 400th episode at the panel, where they say Stan (voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane) nearly dies on his 400th mission, to discover that the CIA has replaced him with a clone.
You might recognize some of the celebrity voices teased at the panel that will be featured in the upcoming season -- RuPaul, Chris Pine, Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson, Joe Mantegna, Ming Na Wen, Wayne Newton, Jonathan Frakes, Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and Kyle MacLachlan.
Family Guy
Just after the San Diego Comic-Con panel, "Family Guy" dropped a preview of season 24 you can watch online here. The trailer starts with a "Lord of the Rings" parody, "Lord of the Earring," and ends with Stewie talking to Lois who actually understands him for what could be the first time since the show's inception.
The cast, Alex Borstein (Lois Griffin), Seth Green (Chris Griffin), and Jennifer Tilly (Bonnie Swanson), along with executive producers Alec Sulkin and Kara Vallow, were at San Diego Comic-Con for a Saturday Ballroom 20 panel.
New episodes of season 24 will take place on FOX in 2026. This past year, "Family Guy" was renewed by FOX for four more seasons to take them through at least season 27.
Also, two holiday specials will be streamed on Hulu, with a Halloween special slated to premiere on Oct. 6, 2025.

King of the Hill
The creators and executive producers gave fans in attendance an exclusive screening of the world premiere of the second episode of season 14 of the "King of the Hill" revival at an Indigo Ballroom panel on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con.
The upcoming revival series debuts on Aug. 4, 2025, on Hulu, which follows now retired Hank and Peggy Hill and a grown up Bobby Hill, taking place years after the final episode aired in 2010.

The trailer shows Hank and Peggy return to a changed Arlen, Texas as they reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill after spending years in Saudi Arabia saving for their retirement.
Bobby is living in Dallas working as a chef in his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane.
Executive producer and showrunner Saladin Patterson was joined at the panel by executive producers and co-creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge (Hank Hill) along with cast Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill), Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Lauren Tom (Minh Souphanousinphone), and Toby Huss (Dale Gribble).
San Diego Comic-Con attendees also got to visit a little slice of Arlen, Texas at the outside activation along San Diego Bay to get a "King of the Hill" hat, apron, some BBQ and a branded can of Alamo water under the Arlen water tower, along with photo ops, lawn games and more.
The Simpsons
Series writers, creator, directors and cast gave fans a preview of season 37 ahead of its September 28 debut.
"The Simpsons" has been renewed by FOX for four more seasons, extending the show through its 40th season.
The show also previewed this year's "Treehouse of Horror" episode which will feature guest stars Idris Elba, Michael Keaton and Viola Davis, while Futurama creator Matt Groening, "Simpsons" gag writers Matt Selman and Mike Price, director Matt Faughnan, consulting producer/director David Silverman, and surprise guest stars, gave a sneak peek into the show's 800th episode, which will air on FOX in February 2026.
One big announcement that came from the Saturday Ballroom 20 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the season 37 guest star roster, which will include Kieran Culkin (Succession), Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Albert Brooks, Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!), Danny Pudi (Community), Adam Pally (Sonic the Hedgehog) and both Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson, Comicbook.com reports.
Bob's Burgers
"Bob's Burgers" moved to the Ballroom 20 for this year's panel as creator and executive producer Loren Bouchard and supervising director Bernard Derriman announced the upcoming milestone 300th episode with the cast, including H. Jon Benjamin (Bob Belcher), John Roberts (Linda Belcher), Kristen Schaal (Louise Belcher), Eugene Mirman (Gene Belcher), Dan Mintz (Tina Belcher), and Larry Murphy (Teddy).
Season 16 will premiere on Sept. 28 on FOX.
Those in attendance at the Saturday morning panel got an exclusive preview from season 16 and learned first the new season will have a Halloween episode.
"Bob's Burgers" has been renewed by FOX for four more seasons, taking the show through at least season 19.
