Robinsons Retail to launch convenience store format in Boracay
Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI) is expanding its premium grocery business into convenience retail with the opening of its first Little Marketplace store in Boracay on Oct. 30.
In a statement on Tuesday, RRHI said the store, located at Henann Crystal Sands Resort in Station 1, will offer groceries, ready-to-eat meals, fresh food, beverages, and travel essentials.
The outlet will also feature a Pick & Grill service, allowing customers to select meat cuts for on-site grilling, alongside a bar serving alcoholic beverages.
RRHI said the store will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Christine Tueres, RRHI managing director for food segments – big formats, said the company sees opportunities in combining convenience retail with food and beverage services.
“We believe this format addresses growing demand for premium yet accessible retail and dining experiences,” she said.
Ms. Tueres said Boracay will serve as the pilot location for Little Marketplace, with the company considering other markets and tourist destinations for potential expansion.
The Marketplace Deputy General Manager Diana Prince Ang said the concept was developed to serve both residents and tourists.
“Little Marketplace reimagines what a convenience store can be by creating a more curated and experiential environment for customers,” she said.
“We wanted to develop a format that feels relevant to how people shop and spend their time in Boracay while providing greater convenience for both residents and tourists,” she added.
