Premiere Date, Trailer, Cast, and More Details

Ride or Die may have been a summer hit on Prime Video after debuting on July 15, but the continuation of Judith (Hannah Waddingham) and Debbie’s (Octavia Spencer) onscreen story seems to be over as the streamer cancels the action-packed series.

While the cancellation of creator Tessa Coates’s comedy thriller may be final at Prime Video, a report suggests there may still be a possibility for the series to continue elsewhere, keeping hope alive that we’ll get to see more of Waddingham and Spencer as their onscreen chemistry is palpable for every moment of this unique dramedy. Below, we’re breaking down everything we know about the possibility of Ride or Die Season 2.

Has Ride or Die been renewed for Season 2?

Ride or Die was officially canceled after one season at Prime Video, but according to Deadline, hope remains for the show’s continuation elsewhere. Per the outlet, Ride or Die is being shopped to other buyers by its lead studio, Paramount Television Studios. Whether that means it could pop up on Paramount+ or another streamer remains to be seen, but considering Prime Video’s shocking cancellation, we’re hoping another home will be found for the title.

Who would star in Ride or Die Season 2?

Ride or Die‘s first season starred Hannah Waddingham, Octavia Spencer, Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, Sylvia Hoeks, and Bill Nighy. As we await news about the show possibly being saved for Season 2, it’s unclear who could potentially return, but we do know that Skrein isn’t likely to be back, as Coates confirmed to TV Insider that his character Billy had, in fact, died. Additionally, Hoeks’ Ana also perished before Season 1 was through.

What would Ride or Die Season 2 be about?

Ride or Die‘s first season revolves around the story of Debbie and Judith, friends who thought they knew everything about each other — except for the fact that Judith is a secret international assassin. Season 1 follows the pals on a road trip across Europe as they flee law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and dangerous criminals after a hit goes horribly wrong. While Season 2 has yet to be picked up after Prime Video’s cancellation, there was plenty of set-up for future stories we’d be happy to see unfold.

Who makes Ride or Die?

Ride or Die‘s first season was created by Tessa Coates and was showrun by Matt Miller, who executive produced the show together with director Peyton Reed, Hannah Waddingham, Octavia Spencer, Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, Irene Yeung, Brian Clisham, and Stephanie Kluft.
