Padres bring the postseason party home with Gallagher Square watch parties

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Padres fans don't need a ticket to Wrigley Field or American Family Field to catch the Padres in the playoffs — all they have to do is bring their team spirit to Petco Park's Gallagher Square, where postseason watch parties will be held to cheer on the home team.

These fan-fueled gatherings will turn the Padres' home turf into a sea of brown and gold while the team hits the road for the Wild Card showdown against the Chicago Cubs — and, if they advance, for a National League Division Series clash with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Here's what's on deck at Gallagher Square:
- Game 2 of the Wild Card series: Thursday at 12:08 p.m. PT
- Game 3 of the Wild Card series (if necessary)
- Games 1, 2, and 5 (if necessary) of the NLDS
First pitch times for later games are still to be determined.
Watch party tickets are just $5 — and kids under 36 inches get in free. Team officials say proceeds will go straight to the Padres Foundation, so while fans are cheering for home runs, they're also helping give back to the local community.
Gates will open one hour before pitch, with entry through the East village Gate or Balboa Gate. From there, it's game time on the massive 75-foot videoboard on the Sycuan Stage.
Fans can also expect upgrade amenities in the space, including an all-new playground, interactive activities, photo-op opportunities, fresh postseason merch, and concessions serving up ballpark favorite bites.
Parking will be available in Padres-operated lots, including Padres Parkade, Tailgate Lot and the Lexus Premier Lot.
With the Padres eyeing another deep playoff run, the watch parties offer fans a unique opportunity to share the excitement of October baseball in the heart of downtown.
