NASCAR San Diego: How to gain access to tickets

CORONADO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego, start your engines!

Naval Base Coronado will be the home of a NASCAR street race set to take place next year.

NASCAR will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy by hosting all three of its national series from June 19-21.

So, how do you get tickets for the event?

Ticketmaster is accepting deposits, which guarantees a reservation to the NASCAR San Diego Weekend.

"All deposit holders will be contacted in the coming weeks with more information on the NASCAR San Diego offerings and a Save the Date to select your experience and seats before the general public (priority based on the timestamp of deposit)," the ticket sales and distribution company said.

The NASCAR course in Coronado is not complete, but is expected to be around 3 miles long.

The location of next year's event replaces the downtown Chicago site that ran the street race the last three years.

NASCAR San Diego Weekend will be the second street race in the sport’s history and the first on an active military base.
