They are our beloved best friends, so today’s column also includes a healthy recipe for our beloved furry ones.

Healthy pet treats

Ingredients: Organic flour, egg, canned organic chicken, or tuna or salmon, optional for dogs, unsweetened organic peanut butter with no Xylitol; optional for cats, add catnip.

Tools needed: Cooking pan, parchment paper, mixing bowl, spoon, spatula, plate.

Prep and serve: Preheat oven to 325, in a bowl mix 1 egg with ¼ cup organic flour, 6 ounces chicken (salmon or tuna is an option), mix well, optional add 2 T peanut butter no Xylitol for dogs, or 3 pinches of catnip for cats, place teaspoons of mixture on parchment paper on cooking pan in oven, monitor and bake up to 16 minutes, let cool, I recommend feeding treats outside if possible for no mess!

Healthy parfait for humans

10 minutes

Ingredients: Yogurt, frozen bananas, fresh raspberries, unsweetened chocolate chips, organic cooked beets, monkfruit, oat milk.

Tools needed: Blender, spatula, spoon, serving flute.

Prep and serve: Per person, blend 1 frozen banana, 2 small, cooked beets or 1 large, 1/3 cup yogurt, 1 t monk fruit, pour half into a flute, place half of raspberries, pour the rest of the blender in, top with a circle of raspberries and unsweetened chocolate chips.

P.S.: I add protein powder to the blender mixture for added health.
