A man was found dead Wednesday under potentially suspicious circumstances in Morena, authorities said, and homicide detectives were called to the scene.

The body was discovered at about 7 a.m. in a parked truck in a construction zone in the 1000 block of Donahue Street, just north of Friars Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The man appeared to have suffered some sort of traumatic injury of unknown origin, Officer Colin Steinbroner said.

Homicide detectives were called in to help determine if the death might have resulted from an assault, according to police.
