FAA says engine trouble responsible for small plane landing on 805
The aviation mishap left the southbound side of the interstate fully blocked in the area for a time and partially closed for hours.

Engine trouble forced the pilot of a light airplane to make an emergency landing on the southbound I-805 in University City over the weekend, the Federal Aviation Administration said Monday.
The Pipe PA28 Cherokee touched down safely on the southbound side of the freeway near Carroll Canyon Road at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and rolled to a stop facing sideways up against a center-divider wall, according to the FAA and the California Highway Patrol.
The pilot and a passenger aboard the aircraft were unhurt, said a preliminary summary of the incident by the federal agency.
No other injuries were reported.
The pilot landed the plane on the freeway after it began having “engine issues,” according to the FAA.
The crash left the southbound side of the interstate fully blocked in the area for a time; it was finally fully reopened at about 9 p.m. Saturday.
