Driver arrested at DUI checkpoint in Santee

SANTEE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- One person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at a DUI checkpoint in Santee over the weekend, authorities said.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, officers conducted the roadblock in the 9200 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard from 8 p.m. on Saturday to 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.
A total of 863 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint, with 30 undergoing a secondary evaluation. Authorities said three motorists conducted field sobriety tests, with just one driver arrested.
Additionally, four drivers were cited for driving without a license or with a suspended license, and another two were issued citations for not having their drivers license in possesion.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
