Deputies to conduct DUI checkpoint in Vista Saturday night

The Vista Sheriff’s Station announced its plans to conduct a DUI and Driver’s Licence checkpoint on Saturday, September 6, in the City of Vista.
Deputies will be stopping vehicles and looking for signs of alcohol or drug impairment at an undisclosed location in the City of Vista from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The Sheriff’s station has disclosed that checkpoints are placed in locations with high collisions and a high frequency of DUI arrests. Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI may have to pay upwards of $13,500.
The Sheriff’s office reminds the public that driving after smoking marijuana or taking prescription drugs can also result in a DUI, especially if the drugs have a driving or operating machinery warning label.
As always, the Sheriff’s office reminds everyone that a fun night can also be a safe night by always having a designated sober driver, reporting drunk drivers and monitoring alcoholic beverage intake of you and your friends.
