SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The death of 16-year-old Curtis Williamson after a fight in Crown Point Shores remains a mystery nearly 30 years later.

The incident occurred on March 26, 1997, when San Diego Police Department officers responded to Crown Point Shores for a report of a large fight involving 20 to 50 people, San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with SDPD said in a news release Monday.

Authorities learned Williamson and a friend of his left and went into the water. That's where Williamson drowned, but the San Diego County Medical Examiner confirmed the manner of death as homicide.

Investigators have conducted numerous interviews of people at the scene of the altercation, however, no suspects have been identified or located at this time.
