San Diegans continued their protests against ICE violence on Thursday morning, with Dist. 1 Supervisor Paloma Aguirre joining the crowd at the federal building downtown.

At least a hundred people joined the protest, which also included a deported veteran liaison and live music.

It is part of an ongoing series of demonstrations against violence by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in situations that have been steadily escalating.

Last week, an ICE agent shot an unarmed Minneapolis woman — Renee Good — in the face, killing her.

“Today, we sent a clear message: we will no longer tolerate the presence of ICE in our neighborhoods,” Aguirre said in a statement.

“The loss of Renee Nicole Good was not an isolated incident, but a tragic symptom of a system that prioritizes fear over the safety of our families.

“We stood together today to demand an end of ICE presence in our communities, but our fight doesn’t end with this rally; we will continue to organize until every resident, regardless of status, can live without the fear of being separated from their families.”

We’re not gonna take it!
