According to the Chula Vista Police Department, officers responded around 11:17 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 00 block of East Prospect Street. When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers provided life-saving measures before both teens were taken to UCSD Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead despite resuscitation efforts.

Investigators say the victims, ages 15 and 17, had been attending a Halloween party when an argument broke out, leading to the shooting. Their names have not been released at this time.

Detectives are now working to identify witnesses and potential suspects. Police believe some people at the party may have recorded the incident on their phones and are urging anyone with video footage, photos or exterior surveillance from the area to come forward.
