Best NFL bars: Watch your team at the beach and beyond in San Diego

SAN DIEGO – The National Football League is back, and there are plenty of sports bars – not only along the waterfront in Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and La Jolla, but across San Diego – to choose from for fans to grab a bite or a brew and cheer on their favorite teams.
Here are just a few of the many local spots that are haunts for some of the NFL’s 32 teams:
In Pacific Beach, Duck Dive at 4650 Mission Blvd. offers an impressive lineup of game-time food and drink specials. Mavericks Beach Club at 860 Garnet Ave. offers 40 TVs in its five indoor/outdoor bars, so you won’t miss a moment of action this season.
Look to the Local PB, 809 Thomas Ave., for supporting specific teams like the Buffalo Bills. Tavern at the Beach at 1200 Garnet Ave. is known for showing all 32 NFL teams on 42 HD TVs.
In Mission Beach, Sandbar Sportsbar & Grill at 718 Ventura Place has TVs strategically placed downstairs, as well as on the SkyDeck for NFL viewing. Miss B’s Coconut Club at 3704 Mission Blvd. is now a certified Packers bar and shows all Green Bay games on both indoor and outdoor TVs. They’ve offered a welcome on their Instagram to all “cheeseheads.” Guava Beach Bar & Grill at 3714 Mission Blvd. is a known spot for Vikings fans.
In La Jolla, The Spot La Jolla, 1005 Prospect St., and Nautilus Tavern, 6830 La Jolla Blvd., also are good NFL viewing options.
Generally, most bars show NFL games, but specific “team bars” may be harder to confirm without visiting or checking their social media during the season. If you have a particular team you follow, contacting the bar directly to inquire about their team allegiance is recommended.
