Authorities ID bicyclist hit by truck in Lemon Grove as Marco Quintero, 35

Authorities on Tuesday released the name of a 35-year-old bicyclist who died when a pickup truck struck him as he was riding at night in Lemon Grove.

Marco Quintero of San Diego was hit by the black Chevrolet Silverado shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8500 block of Troy Street, just east of Camino De Las Palmas, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office.

Paramedics took to Quintero to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.

Neither intoxication nor reckless driving are believed to have been factors in the fatal collision with the bicyclist, sheriff’s Sgt. William Price said.
