Anna Pigeon Season 1 Episode 6 Delivers Bombshell Revelations, Family Secrets & Twists!

Anna Pigeon just kicked things into gear with that revelation!

To my absolute delight, Anna Pigeon Season 1 Episode 6 wastes no time setting us on the hunt for the person who pushed Anna into that cave and held her captive.

But by the end of the hour, the “who” was the last thing on my mind after the twists and revelations.

So, can we say the Paulson family in general sucks!

The whole lineage has beef with Anna, and she’ll happily take each and every one of them on, and I love that for her (and us)!

But let’s get into the initial hunt for the person responsible because there is nothing more heartbreaking and frustrating than when people are gaslighting the hell out of you, and others don’t believe you.

Anna taking everyone to the cave where she was held captive for all of Anna Pigeon Season 1 Episode 5, only to see it cleaned up and devoid of a body, had me ready to rage.

It left people wondering whether she had imagined things or had the wrong cave to worry about, and she spent most of the hour trying to get to the bottom of who was behind it all and find the proof to get justice.

Naturally, the obvious choice was the kid whose radio she broke, but we should’ve known that he was too obvious. Not only that, but the real danger at play was JP, and JP is none other than Jeremiah’s nephew.

What was amusing was seeing that JP’s face looked like he had gotten into the ring with the scariest fighter on earth, but he kept insisting that he had nothing to do with what happened to Anna. Right, kid. Sure!

But what was more sinister was learning that JP is a classic privileged kid who feels like he can get away with just about anything, and this was part of that, too.

He sexually assaulted Kay, the girl whom Anna helped in the woods, and whose body was in the cave with her.

And according to JP, she had a bad fall, and her death was an accident, but he was getting rid of the body when Anna was snooping around, so everything spiraled out of control.

Privileged screw-ups like JP never want to get caught or face any accountability, though.

Instead, we had Jeremiah’s grand return, with him stonewalling the police and the FBI (Stanton is thankfully involved with this now) and trying to keep his boneheaded nephew from making headlines and ruining the Paulson family’s good name.

I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree on the “bad” side, but it does sound like JP always screws up, and Jeremiah is sick of always having to clean up his messes.

But there are also so many other questions surrounding Anna’s time in that cage and what some of her experiences mean.

JP seems like a privileged idiot but not a sadist, and those markings on Anna feel like something else entirely. It’s branding, full-on.

She wanted to make sense of that and figured Kaye would have those markings, too, but Kaye didn’t. My heart broke for Anna when she finally let her guard down enough to show Stanton her injuries.

And even I bristled a bit when sweet Jesse inquired if she got assaulted in the cave. There is an innate fear when it comes to drugging and captivity that there’s some sexual violence in there, too.

Since Kaye was sexually assaulted, it did open the door to wondering if Anna had that same fate.

But we never got much information about the markings on Anna’s back; I don’t recall Bethany saying anything, or did I miss it? Because admittedly, of the two, JP is a familiar type of offender who is mostly accustomed to getting and taking wha the wants and not much else.

But Bethany is a bit scarier, which is why the spidey senses have been going off about her for some time. She’s had a weird obsession with Anna since the start of the series, and presumably since Anna arrived.

There’s something not quite right about Bethany, and searching the house and finding out that she was keeping Anna’s underwear and other such things certainly points to something else entirely with her.

Poor Manny couldn’t even reconcile what his wife had done with what was going on. He has no idea who he married, right down to not knowing who her father was.

Bethany has felt threatened by Anna in her own way all this time, and she’s been trying to drive Anna away and work toward it behind the scenes. But the fact that she also wants to win her father’s approval is a nice twist.

It seems like Jeremiah may have had her illegitimately and abandoned her and her mother, or he just never really cared to be a father in the first place. Bethany holds him in such high regard and wants this paternal figure, and Jeremiah doesn’t care at all.

Listening to her telling Manny to call her dad would be heartbreaking if it weren’t so pathetic. We have this woman who seems desperate to get the attention and acknowledgment she’s never gotten from this man, and it’s ruining her.

Now, she’s in jail after trying to protect JP and Jeremiah by extension too, and he does not care about her at all. He’s not going to help — it doesn’t seem like he considers Bethany to be a legitimate Paulson worth protecting.

Jeremiah was unbothered, ignoring the phone call with ease and happily looking out at all the land he’d acquired and intended to steal from everyone.

He’s a man who only cares about himself.

And now, it seems like Bethany will face the brunt of punishment for what happened to Anna Pigeon. She was the one poisoning her and such, after all.

I loved the reveal when she walked into the living room with the tea, and the flashbacks to how Anna pieced together that the domestic edge in how she was treated was totally Bethany.

She really has been a great character lurking in the background who doesn’t quite feel right, but you can’t quite place why, and so the payoff during this hour was so great.

But again, the connection to Jeremiah was something I didn’t even see coming!

Outside the twists and turns of the hour, we also got some progress on Anna actually realizing she has a community around her, and she’s not just a lone wolf. Of course, she was still pushing Jesse away.

It felt pretty standard for her to shy away from the warmth, love, and security he offers after something so traumatic. It can be too overwhelming after something that traumatic.

She at least thanked him, acknowledged that he was leading the charge, and realized she was missing well before anyone else would’ve noticed. I think that’s a very sobering realization for her — something that’s as scary as it is comforting.

Getting too attached is terrifying when you’ve already lost things, so at the core of Anna right now is the fear of what it means, how risky it is, to actually let love in again.

I think Jesse understands this, and bless his sweet heart, he never stops trying. He pushes up against the walls when she needs it, challenges her when it’s appropriate, and steps aside when she asks.

But he always makes it known that he’s there for he when she decides that she wants to let him in. And he constantly reminds her that her efforts to push him away don’t really work.

And then we have Zoey shattering her walls, too. Zoey really seems to get Anna more than Anna even realizes, and I’m glad they had that final moment together, because it seems to have opened her eyes to how astute Zoey is.

Zoey giving her a come-to-Jesus talk and being blunt with her scolding and cutting through the BS was such a delightful moment. I think it’s easy for Anna to write off Zoey’s quirkiness or how eager and maybe even innocent she seems as Zoey being passive.

But Zoey is her own force of nature, and her calling Anna out was the exact type of tough love that Anna gets from Molly.

It feels like Anna is finally seeing the sisterhood Zoey has been extending this whole time, and she’s coming to grips with the fact that her attempts to isolate herself will not work in this village, which keeps choosing her despite her resistance.

She needs to get with the program! Goodness knows we can’t keep having her go off on her own every five seconds when she has a pack ready and willing to fight by her side if she’ll just let them.

Jeremiah’s back; we have some shocking twists and developments: Stanton/Anna goodness and Zoey/Anna sisterhood. That’s an episode well done for me! How about you!
