USPS hiring for the holiday season in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The holiday season is only a few weeks away which means the U.S. Postal Service is expecting an influx of shipments.

To help ensure packages get to their intended destinations, USPS is looking for holiday assistants to help them with sorting duties in post offices from San Bernardino to San Diego and the east desert communities.

USPS aims to fill about 120 temporary positions for two periods of temporary holiday assignments. The first period will run from Nov. 1 to Dec. 12 and the second will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 26.

Temporary holiday "elves" will be paid $20.59 an hour.

Hiring events were held in San Diego and San Bernardino counties on Oct. 9 and 16.
