Tropic Like It’s Hot: Boracay with the Fam & the Ride-or-Die Crew

March 30, 2022 - Boracay Island, Philippines
If I had to sum up our Boracay trip in three words, it would be: Sun. Shenanigans. Survival.
When you throw together a full fam squad plus your chaotic circle of friends, things are bound to get wild. And in Boracay? Multiply that by ten. This wasn’t just a beach trip—it was a full-blown comedy, drama, and reality show rolled into one, set against a backdrop of white sand and salty air.
Day 1: Sand, Sunburns & Snacking Nonstop
The trip began the second we landed. There was yelling over missing chargers, chaotic room assignments ("Why do they get the beach view?!"), and at least three arguments over who forgot the snacks. But the moment we stepped onto White Beach, it all melted away.
We sprinted to the shore like kids let out of school. Some were jumping into the sea, others were already lining up their “candid” photos (which took, like, 27 takes). The sand was pure powder, the water was crystal clear, and the vibe? Immaculate.
Dinner was at a beachside grill where we inhaled seafood like we hadn’t eaten in days. Someone accidentally ordered way too much squid. We didn’t complain.
Day 2: Boats, Bloopers & Busted Speakers
Island hopping = the highlight of the trip. And chaos? Oh, it came with us.
We loaded into a boat that barely fit us all and headed for magic: cliff diving, snorkeling, hidden coves—and a playlist that only worked half the time because someone brought a speaker with 12% battery.
One friend got stung by a jellyfish (nothing serious—just enough drama for a group selfie), and my little brother got “accidentally” pushed into the water mid-photo. The splash was iconic.
By the time we reached the last island, half of us were sunburned, the other half were napping, and everyone was happy. Genuinely happy.
Day 3: Chill Mode (Kind Of)
We tried to keep it low-key for our last day. Paddleboarding, fresh coconut juice, and the occasional beach nap. But with this crew? “Chill” only lasts so long.
Cue the spontaneous beach volleyball tournament, an epic sandcastle competition (judged unfairly, if you ask me), and a karaoke showdown that turned into a full-on concert on the sand. The sun went down, but the energy didn’t. We ended the night with barbecue, beer, and stories we’d all deny in the morning.
Final Thoughts (a.k.a. Sentimental Stuff We Don’t Say Out Loud)
Leaving Boracay felt weird. Like, none of us wanted to admit how much we actually needed this—no stress, no work, no deadlines. Just laughs, salt in our hair, and memories we’ll be bringing up at every reunion for the next decade.
It wasn’t just a vacation. It was a core memory unlocked—with the people who know how to drive you crazy but love you anyway.
Boracay gave us sun, sand, and the kind of laughter that sticks to your skin like saltwater. And honestly? I’d do it all again tomorrow.
