Sports San Diego, the nonprofit that produces the Holiday Bowl — San Diego’s college football bowl game — has announced that San Diego-based online digital estate planning platform Trust & Will has been named the new Holiday Bowl title sponsor. DirecTV had been the previous title sponsor for the past two years.

“We are truly excited and proud to announce this partnership with Trust & Will,” said Mark Neville, chief executive officer of Sports San Diego. “We look forward to working closely with their team and presenting yet another amazing San Diego bowl experience for visiting and local fans alike. We can’t wait for January 2.”

The 46th annual Trust & Will Holiday Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley. The game will feature top teams from the Pac-12 conference and Atlantic Coast Conference. Fox will broadcast the game for the fourth straight year. It’s the first time the game will be played in January.

“Trust & Will started in San Diego, and our partnership with the Holiday Bowl is especially meaningful to us,” said Cody Barbo, co-founder and chief executive officer of Trust & Will.

“The Holiday Bowl has been a longtime tradition for families across the region, and we’re proud to support an event that brings people together and celebrates what makes this community special. We’re excited to team up with Sports San Diego and be part of the energy, pride and legacy that the Holiday Bowl represents.”

Founded in 2017, Trust & Will boasts more than one million customers and $200 billion in self-reported estate assets, a statement said. The company’s attorney-approved online solutions empower Americans to create wills, trusts, healthcare directives and other essential estate planning documents tailored to state-specific laws.

Last April, Trust & Will launched its latest national TV advertising campaign, themed “Make It Count.” The campaign included a 30-second spot featuring a couple sharing their end-of-life wishes with a favorite aunt. Then, spokesperson Eddie Blackwell Williams appeared to explain why the couple’s wishes only count when documented in a will or trust, which is available from Trust & Will.

Marketing Architects, an all-inclusive TV agency based in Minneapolis, produced the spot for Trust & Will. Since last year, the spot has appeared on ESPN, MSNBC, Lifetime, FX, Travel Channel, Food Network, Discovery and Travel Channel.
