Jacob Elordi in Talks for Ari Aster’s New Movie

Preview:
- Jacob Elordi’s making a deal to star in ‘Scapegoat.’
- It’s Ari Aster’s new movie.
- Scarlett Johansson is already aboard.
Having taken a break following an intense working period (that helped him nab an Oscar nomination for his role in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’), rising star Jacob Elordi has seemingly found his next gig.
Deadline reports that Elordi was ‘Eddington’ director Ari Aster’s top pick to co-star alongside Scarlett Johansson in his new movie, ‘Scapegoat.’
The film, which is mostly under wraps for now (more on that below) is the latest that Aster wrote to direct, and marks the fourth time he’s working with A24. Though after the lackluster box office performance of ‘Eddington’ ($13 million worldwide on a $25 million budget) and barely a blip in awards recognition, you have to wonder if the filmmaker snapped one of the One Wish Willows from ‘Obsession’ to avoid a serious stint in Director Jail.

What’s the story of ‘Scapegoat’?

That’s the question right now –– Aster hasn’t released any details, so all we have is speculation.
There are guesses that it’s about a doctor who operates on an internet-famous person. Others say it’s sci-fi romance, and some have said it’s more of a traditional drama for Aster. Chances are we’ll learn more soon enough once shooting gets underway.
Where else can we see Jacob Elordi?
The in-demand actor remains on the speculative list as a potential next James Bond, but in more concrete terms, he’ll next be seen in Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic drama ‘The Dog Stars,’ due out on August 28th.
