SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- It's that time of year! The United States celebrates its 249th birthday, and San Diego is celebrating with the largest fireworks show on the West Coast.

The show is an annual tradition organized by the Port of San Diego, along with local partners and government, and it has been shown live on television and online for many years by Nexstar stations across California.

Watch the special celebrations and fireworks show in this article starting at 8 p.m.

8:30 p.m.: Big Bay Boom Spectacular
9 p.m.: Big Bay Boom Fireworks

The fireworks are launched from four barges on the San Diego Bay and are synced with music.

Hundreds of thousands of people watch the show in person from San Diego's waterfront, on boats or from key places around the city as the night sky lights up to celebrate Independence Day.

In 2025, San Diego's Big Bay Boom spectacular and fireworks show airs on FOX 5 in San Diego, KTLA in Los Angeles and KGPE in Fresno, as well as on their websites and streaming TV apps.
