SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Alaska Airlines has announced a new seasonal nonstop service this winter between San Diego and Sun Valley, Idaho connecting Southern California beaches with Northwest ski destinations.

Flights will take place three times a week from Dec. 19, 2025, through March 31, 2026, connecting the San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) in Sun Valley, Idaho, the airline announced Friday.

The airline said nonstop flights will go between the two cities on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“This new seasonal route between San Diego and Sun Valley comes at the perfect time for travelers looking to enjoy some of North America’s premier winter recreation,” said Kimberly Becker, President and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. “It provides Southern Californians with convenient access to Idaho’s stunning mountain landscapes and world-class skiing, while also offering Sun Valley residents a direct connection to San Diego’s beaches, culture, and sunshine.”

From San Diego, Alaska Airlines also offers flights to the Northwest, Northeast, California, Florida, Mexico, and all four major Hawaiian islands, with nonstop flights to 45 locations.
