Adult Swim's 'Haha, You Clowns' debuts at San Diego Comic-Con
The world premiere of the new adult comedy TV series "Haha, You Clowns" by Joe Cappa and executive producer Carl Faruolo was debuted at San Diego Comic-Con.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- After starting as shorts, the creator and executive producer of Adult Swim's "Haha, You Clowns" debuted the world premiere of the new TV series at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday.
During an Indigo Ballroom panel, creator Joe Cappa and executive producer Carl Faruolo, from Gravity Falls, Robot Chicken, Phineas and Ferb and more, debuted the first episode of the new TV series "Haha, You Clowns," moderated by Cameron Tang.
"Haha, You Clowns" started as shorts on YouTube, then Adult Swim. Now the animated series is becoming a TV show.
*Spoiler Alert*
The first episode tugs on your heart strings while making you laugh at the same time.
The father is a weatherman who makes an emotional call on-air to his boys during a tornado, while still making you laugh. The word choices, subtle mannerisms and clunky animation style are unique and make the show its own.
Joe Cappa not only creates the show, he voices the dad and his three boys who are high schoolers in the show. In the panel, he described his inspiration for creating the show came from his own family, including the name.
And keeping it in the family, Cappa co-writes "Haha, You Clowns" with his brother.
Some cameo voice actors teased in the upcoming TV series -- Sean Astin, Justin Theroux and Cheri Oteri, just to name a few.
The panel also included a behind-the-scenes look at the animation process, which showed Cappa and Faruolo acting out crazy poses in real life, then translating those to animation.
Cappa noted with this show he is aiming for a different type of adult comedy.
